Welcome to Menzoberranzan... in Minecraft

I've always been a pretty big fan of fantasy and R. A. Salvatore's many novels about Drizzt and the other Companions of the Hall have been inspirational. They are always a joy to read and I read them frequently. Drizzt, one of the few drow elves that have found themselves on the surface of Faerun, and one of the even rarer few who have decided to stay there and made a name for themselves, was born in a far different place than he belonged. He was born in Menzoberranzan, great city of the drow.

Menzoberranzan is a large city in an underground cavern about 4 kilometers from east to west and 2 1/2 north to south. 10 square kilometers of city is a lot to build, but I have a lot of experience with what goes into a mega build like this. The USS Enterprise project is still going strong, a city packed into a space ship hull.

I've written too much text. Pictures say a lot more. There is not all that much progress yet but these are the major structures that are present and areas that might be recognized by those interested in Menzoberranzan or Dungeons and Dragons in general.
